Abstract

This article analyzes the philosophical and religious views of the great thinker and sage of Turkic-Islamic civilization, Abu Nasr al-Farabi. The study examines his contribution to and position within Turkic-Islamic philosophy. Based on hermeneutical and comparative methods, the contemporary relevance of al-Farabi’s ideas on reason and logic, faith and knowledge, and the harmony between science and religion is identified. The article also correlates the values of human spiritual perfection and their philosophical significance within the thinker’s concept of the virtuous state. Modern reinterpretations of al-Farabi are reconsidered, and as a result, his metaphysical, theological, and ontological views are evaluated. In addition, a brief overview is provided of al-Farabi’s system of thought, his place of origin, and the value of his philosophical legacy.
